While Iwona Rozbiewska’s exhibition presents works from various periods of the artist’s career, its title comes from one of her early works from 2012. This work is a transformation of the coffin, turning this ‘closed’ object of inspiration into an open structure, even an architectural object, completely changing its meaning.
One of the artist’s latest works was created in early 2025. It is a video in which we see the creation of a solid, its expansion, transformation and changes, as well as a series of connections and new three-dimensional spaces that are created during these changes.
The resulting architectural grids are subject to constant change. They contain not only clear, geometric forms, but also organic elements imbued with symbolism, which – alongside visual quality – interests the artist.
We are presenting works that are the result of long-term creative processes, as well as those that are the result of spontaneous and intuitive activities in the studio.
Iwona Rozbiewska creates art installations, objects and videos. Her works refer to architecture, culture in the broad sense, and events she encounters around her.
