In 2026, for the seventh time, the National Leon Wyczółkowski Painting Competition will take place in Bydgoszcz.
The competition is for Polish painters, and its goal is to promote modern painting and to popularize knowledge about the outstanding artist – the patron of the competition – Leon Wyczółkowski, who was closely associated with Bydgoszcz.
The competition is organized by the Bydgoszcz district of the Association of Polish Visual Artists (ZPAP), co-organized by the Municipal Gallery bwa in Bydgoszcz, and partnered by Leon Wyczółkowski District Museum in Bydgoszcz and Municipal Centre of Culture in Bydgoszcz.
The event is organised with the financial support of the City of Bydgoszcz.

Calendar:
• submit your photos between March 16th and April 11th, 2026 to: Bydgoszcz Branch of the Association of Polish Artists (ZPAP), Plac Wolności 7, 85-004 Bydgoszcz, or by email: wyczolkowski2026@gmail.com, together with proof of payment (80 PLN).
• The results of the first stage of the competition will be announced on May 9, 2026
• submission of selected entries between May 18th–29th, 2026
• selection of award-winning entries by June 8th, 2026
• the opening of the post-competition exhibition will take place on June 27th, 2026; the exhibition will run until August 30th, 2026.
• deadline for collection of the works after the exhibition: September 25th, 2026
