Let’s make pro-animal activist T-shirts!
Do pigeons, rats, hedgehogs or wild animals living in and outside the city deserve our attention? Or do they remain ‘invisible’ to many? During the workshop we will talk about animals that are often overlooked – and together we will try to give them a voice. Everyone will create their own T-shirt with a slogan, drawing or sign expressing care, commitment and solidarity with the animals living next door to us – those untamed, underestimated and often pushed out of urban space.
We will use fabric pens for the artwork. We ask everyone to bring their bright T-shirt to be ‘activated’ – turned into a personal manifesto of pro-animal sensitivity. People of all ages are welcome to attend the workshop – children with their guardians.
The workshop accompanies an exhibition by Monika Chlebek and Michalina W. Klasik “For You”.

Presented by: Arek Pasożyt – artworker, PhD. He works at the intersection of the fields of socially engaged visual art, post-art, artivism, collectivism and cultural animation. Arek Pasożyt’s artistic practice interweaves personal circumstances (coming from a farming and working class background at the intersection of an impoverished village and a medium-sized Polish city) with current socio-political themes. Through a wide range of artistic media and means of expression, he brings out alternative or displaced perspectives and offers counter-narratives to the existing reality. In 2010, he announced the “The Parasitism Manifesto”, presenting the idea of his actions as a parasite artist, thus making a critical reference to the artist’s status in society. In line with the ideas contained in the ‘Manifesto’, Arek Pasożyt lived and created by ‘parasitising’ in cultural institutions and venues in Poland and abroad. Over time, his activities evolved into what he calls “feeding projects”. At the end of 2017 and the beginning of 2018, as the street protests intensified, he began to participate with “Strike Images.” He is pursuing his doctorate at the Doctoral School Academia Artium Humaniorum of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń.
