Among the most recognisable and outstanding designs by Teresa Kruszewska (1927–2014) are: chair for children and adults “Muszelka” (1956), rocking chair for children “Pajacyk” (1959), garden chair “Tubus” (1965), chairs “Czerwony” (1969), “Stokrotka” (1971), “Tulipan (1973) and “Czarny” (1974), interior design of a 39 m2 flat for a young married couple with two children and furniture for Workers’ Cooperative “Osiedle Młodych” in Warsaw (1955-1956 i 1959). Particularly important and significant were her designs for hospital furniture systems and interiors for the Children’s Hospital of the Medical Academy in Kraków-Prokocim (1959-1963), Children’s Health Centre in Warsaw (1975), furniture that “grows with children” (1977-1978) together with the “open system D+M” (1980) and for children aged 6-18, designed on commission from “Cepelia” in 1986-1987.

Teresa Kruszewska – interior architect, furniture designer, academic lecturer. Studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw between 1948 and 1952; graduated from the studio of Prof. Jan Kurzątkowski, one of the most outstanding Polish designers of the 20th century. Throughout her professional life, she was associated with her alma mater, collaborating with the Institute of Industrial Design and the “Ład” Artists’ Cooperative in Warsaw, as well as the Furniture Research and Development Centre in Poznań. Her designs captivate with their unique artistic creativity, beauty and perfection of form, simplicity, functionality, lightness and ergonomics. In the second half of the 1950s, she experimented with shell forms; she attached great importance to design theory. She has won numerous national and international artistic awards.

Jerzy Brukwicki – art critic, curator of exhibitions, journalist. Long-standing head of the “Pokaz” Critics’ Gallery in Warsaw. In the 1980s, author of several dozen independent exhibitions, including “Polska Pieta”, “Czas smutku, czas nadziei”, “Obecność”, “Przeciw złu, przeciw przemocy”, “Rocznice”, Solidarność posters; editor and publisher of the independent culture magazine Wybór, editor of the underground social weekly Przegląd Wiadomosci Agencyjnych (PWA), co-worker of the publishers NOWA, Przedświt, Pokolenie. He has organized many exhibitions of contemporary Polish art in Polish and foreign museums and galleries. Author of texts on art and artistic events (e.g. “Exit”, “LOT Kaleidoscope”, “Pokaz”, “Kunstmarkt”, “Polish Culture”, “Reklama”, “Rondo Europa”, “Spotkania z Warszawą”, “Warszawski Informator Kulturalny”, “culture.pl”, portalmini.eu.)
