Another European Night of Museums is upon us. You are cordially invited to a night full of attractions!
In our Gallery, admission to all events during the European Night of Museums is free.
On Saturday, May 17th, the gallery at 20 Gdańska St. will be open from 11:30 to 16:30 and from 18.00 till midnight, while the branch at 3 Gdańska St. will only be open from 18.00 till midnight.
The European Night of Museums is also an opportunity to buy catalogues at a promotional price – as every year, we have prepared attractive discounts.
20 Gdańska St. 18.00–24.00 – visiting exhibitions accompanied by alternative ways of perceiving works of art.
Sunshine of Your Heart – the exhibition is based on selected works from the collection of the Municipal Gallery bwa in Bydgoszcz. An important element of the exhibition is to draw attention to the spiritual and emotional value of this selection from the collection and to perception with the heart. This curatorial strategy comes from a passion for exploring the layers of art’s essence and the decision to recognise one’s rights from birth: to feel, to be oneself, to be healthy, to art, to dance, to be present, to sunrises and sunsets…
The exhibition will be accompanied by booklets in which you can write down your feelings, impressions and emotions after the author’s descriptions of the works. In addition, we invite you to a guided tour at 20.00.
Łukasz Breitenbach. Painting – the artist paints ordinary, sometimes even banal situations, records the monotony that accompanies life: a remembered view of nature, interiors and people from the immediate environment. Minimalist depictions of residential or post-industrial spaces are maintained in an atmosphere of mysterious understatement. Łukasz Breitenbach – Polish painter, graduate of the art high school in Bydgoszcz, who in 2013 received his Master of Arts degree in the studio of Mieczysław Ziomek at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń.
Viewing the exhibition will be enhanced by the game “Negative/Positive,” which will exercise perceptiveness in recognising the paintings of Łukasz Breitenbach. We have prepared small gifts for the participants of the game, related to the artist’s works. The guided tour of the exhibition will start at 21.00.
WSPólnie – the most interesting student projects from the Faculty of Design Arts at the Jan and Jędrzej Śniadecki Bydgoszcz University of Science and Technology, structured around interior design, visual communication and design. The interpenetration and interaction of these fields remains significant in the context of the education provided at the Faculty, translating into taking appropriate action and shaping emerging projects.
The exhibition will be accompanied by the workshop “Function | Form | Message,” a space for exploration and experimentation at the interface of usability, aesthetics and communication. You will be able to meet lecturers from the Faculty of Design Arts at the Bydgoszcz University of Science and Technology. The workshop is open and for everyone interested in creative thinking.
3 Gdańska St. 18.00–24.00
Cyryl Zakrzewski. Wonder, honey, ultramarine. – the exhibition presents objects that balance between design and sculpture, combining functionality with aesthetics. In Zakrzewski’s work, nature is a source of inspiration and, at the same time, a starting point for experiments with form and modern technologies.
There will be an opportunity to meet with Cyryl Zakrzewski between 18.00 and 20.00. In addition, 3D chair models will be available for the visitors to assemble.
