Exhibition as a part of the 15th Fonomo Music & Film Festival 2026

The Fall of a Certain Planet begins not with a catastrophe, but with change. With slow, scattered and seemingly insignificant processes that, over time, become part of everyday life. The landscape changes, as do the composition of the air and water, the temperature, the rhythm of the seasons, and the presence of other species. The sound of the world also changes.

The exhibition, consisting primarily of sound works, is an attempt to listen to these transformations and uncover their traces. Here, sound does not merely serve to document reality. It becomes a tool for recognising the processes taking place in matter, the environment and technology — including those that remain invisible or elude our everyday perception.

The Fall of a Certain Planet/ does not tell of a single end or a single catastrophe. Rather, it is concerned with a state stretched out over
time: the moment when successive, seemingly minor shifts begin to coalesce into a process that is difficult to reverse.

Perhaps the fall of a planet is not an event that will happen at some point in the future. Perhaps it is something that is already happening — quietly, unevenly, often beyond the scope of our attention — whilst ordinary life continues to unfold around us.
