Note: due to the threat of the spread of SARS-COV-2, there will not be the official opening of the exhibition.
From the author: “The works shown in the exhibition are a collection of posters that I have created over the last 10 years. Most of them are works created for my own needs – playing with form and practising style. Most of them, created with the thought of what is nice to look at at home and what is worth reminding of every day, touch upon the subject of home, relaxation, closeness and looking at the momentum of life with detachment. As there is a group of people to whom these slogans are also close, the posters are appearing in more and more homes. The cycle expands every year, encouraging relaxation, praising the luxury of free time, reminding us of the pleasure of reading.”
Bio: Katarzyna Bogucka, born in 1985. In 2009, she received her diploma in painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń.
A versatile illustrator. Her work can be seen in the press (in such magazines as Twój Styl, Zwierciadło, Wysokie Obcasy), books for children, in animation, as well as in design in its broadest sense. In 2013, she was awarded the NAMI Island International Concours for picture book illustrations in Seoul and took part in the Bologna Illustration Exhibition. In 2015 she received a distinction in Bologna for her “Wytwórnik Kulinarny” created together with Szymon Tomiło, issued by Wytwórnia. She also creates illustrations for magazines, clothing brands and commercial customers. The variety of challenges makes subsequent works surprisingly original and at the same time consistent with the very characteristic style of the author. Her hallmarks are geometric, modern silhouettes and shapes, and original colours. Between cooperation with cultural institutions and commercial clients, he finds time for his projects, which can be seen, among others, at nioska.com.
