Subject: The scents of memory – plants from our grandmothers’ gardens
Presented by: Katarzyna Rymarz

An event focusing on plants that have been part of everyday life for generations – in gardens, the kitchen and the home medicine cabinet. The scent of mint, lime blossom or thyme can instantly bring back memories of a summer garden, a childhood kitchen or a holiday in the countryside.
During the meeting, we will talk about plants found in old gardens and herbariums. We will examine their significance in tradition, culture and everyday domestic practices. It will also be an opportunity to experience plants with all your senses – through smell, touch and observation.
During the practical session, participants will create their own scented herbal sachets, made from aromatic plants such as lavender, mint, thyme and rose petals. These natural blends can be used to aromatize your home, wardrobes or pillows, bringing the scent of summer back to you for a long time to come.
The meeting takes the form of a storytelling session, a sensory experience and a relaxed workshop, in which plants serve as a starting point for a conversation about memory, tradition and nature in everyday life.
