Jakub Kosecki – “Polimorficzne Międzymordzie” (Polymorphic Interface) – exhibition as a part of the 14th Fonomo Music & Film Festival 2025

Jakub Kosecki – art as a field of relations
“Polimorficzne Międzymordzie” (Polymorphic Interface), the exhibition with which Jakub Kosecki will appear at the Fonomo Music & Film Festival 2025, it is a metaphor for the ubiquitous and dynamically transforming interfaces. The word “międzymordzie” itself is nothing more than a humorous, clumsy translation of the English word “interface.” However, Kosecki places this term in a broader context, not referring to it solely in relation to user-device interaction.
Międzymordzie as a metaphor for everyday life
Interfaces mediate all processes, guide human behaviour and determine our decisions. “Międzymordzie” by Jakub Kosecki explains, opens up access to new spaces, and acts as a mediator. The curatorial text is an interface for the exhibition, the exhibition is a three-dimensional matrix for the works, and the works mediate and familiarise the viewer with the artist’s way of thinking. Objects stripped of their original context take on new meanings – they become part of assemblages, site-specific installations and conceptual constructions, which the artist creates with the attentiveness of a sculptor and the sensitivity of an observer of everyday life.
Creator in the independent culture ecosystem
Jakub Kosecki is a visual artist, curator and musician. He was born in Szczecin in 1996, and since 2016 he has been living and working in Poznań. In 2019, he completed his bachelor’s degree in Intermedia, and in 2022, his master’s degree in Curatorship and Art Theory at the University of Arts in Poznań. As a visual artist, he creates installations and objects, while his musical activities include electronic compositions and experimental site-specific musical installations.
From 2017 to 2021, he co-ran the Luka Gallery. In 2020, together with curator Julianna Kulczyńska and the Luka collective, he founded Luka 5G, a virtual space for art. Since 2021, he has been associated with the collective and grassroots cultural institution Domie, where he curates exhibitions, co-creates the artistic programme and a series of Domie broadcasts on Radio Kapitał. Since 2023, he has been a member of the Umysł Biedaka collective. As an independent curator, he collaborates with public art institutions and private galleries.

On the penultimate day of the exhibition (13 December, 2 p.m.), we invite you to a guided tour by the author and curator. Free admission.
When creating “Polymorphic Interface,” Jakub Kosecki will use, among other things, electronic waste obtained from the exhibition partner and sponsor of the Fonomo Music & Film Festival 2025 – Tesla Electrorecycling from Bydgoszcz.
