We would like to invite you to a lecture of the Bydgoszcz Academy of Art.
Renovating old furniture yourself is not just a fashion but also a lifestyle: more eco-friendly and according to the 3R principle (reduce, reuse, recycle). Instead of throwing away unnecessary objects, you can change their appearance and even their purpose, clean, repair, highlight the beauty of old wood, add missing elements, introduce colour or fabric. Małgorzata Budzich, author of the book Meble od nowa (Furniture anew), who furnished almost her entire house with recycled furniture and encourages others to do the same, will talk about ways and ideas for using old furniture. During the meeting, she will show numerous examples of successful metamorphoses and will reveal patents for self-renovation at home. She will tell you how to clean the wood at home, how to mask holes and how to stain, paint and protect the surface to make the furniture pleasing to the eye for a long time.
Małgorzata Budzich – author of the blog and a handbook for hobbyists “Meble od nowa”. Lawyer by education, book publisher by profession, renovator by passion. For years, she has been supporting lovers of old furniture in developing their hobby. She teaches how to carry out a classic renovation of wooden furniture, but also how to style an uninteresting piece of MDF furniture to turn it into an interior decoration. She runs classroom workshops, online courses, publishes on her blog and photographs interiors. She also teaches renovation classes for postgraduate students of Home design at the College of Europe.
